Born & Raised in West (by God!) Virginia.  Born in Coalwood,  WVa ("October Sky" movie). Went to Grade & Jr. High in Welch, and graduated from Gary HS in 1957 (played against Jerry West in the state basketball championship - they won!).

Degrees in "Electrical Engineering" from the Virginia Military Institute and "Computer Information Systems" from El Camino College, CA.

Lived or traveled in 28 countries (favorites cities were London, England & Bangkok, Thailand).

 

20 Years experience as a Telecommunications Engineering Officer in the USAF (retired LtCol).  Best job was as 'Principal' of the entry-level Communications Officer course at Keesler AFB, Mississippi.  Rewrote and reorganized the course and graduated some 1,000 Second Lieutenants in my 4 years there.

10 Years experience in Aerospace Engineering and a `lot' of computer applications programs related thereto.  Was on the launch crew of the "Challenger" shuttle mission at Cape Kennedy on the most famous `day from hell' in the space program (my company had the NASA TDRSS communications satellite on board when it exploded).  You can see some of the photos I took that day by going to  Challenger .
